Vikings owned these sheep

Sheep on Iceland are direct descendants of the sheep that were brought when Vikings settled the island over a thousand years ago. They are one of the oldest, purest and most beautiful breeds in the world.

It’s strictly illegal to import sheep to the country which keeps the breed genetically identical to its early ancestors.

Tough and elegant at the same time

Vikings were strong men and women who sailed the most extreme seas.

We're talking 30 meter high, icy waves crashing into tiny wooden boats.

While famous for invading and fighting, few people know that they were also very sophisticated.

High intelligence was required to build boats that could navigate the oceans.

And it was intelligent to breed the special sheep that helped them survive the ice.
